Interoperability/Information Sharing Subcommittee

This subcommittee focuses on improving interagency public safety communications primarily throughout the four counties, but also beyond. Voice and data communications / information sharing are covered. Regional, multidiscipline solutions are proposed whenever possible.

This subcommittee meets on an as needed basis; average meeting cycle is bi-monthly.

Training and Exercise

This subcommittee considers requests from regional first responder departments / agencies for funding for trainings and exercises. The committee focuses on supporting events which provide training across regional and multi-discipline lines.

The committee meets on a monthly basis; the third Tuesday of the month at 9am

Pandemic Flu

This subcommittee is responsible for planning for large scale Public Health emergencies such as, but not limited to, Pandemic Influenza. The committee is also focused on the inclusion of Individuals Requiring Addition Assistance (IRAA) in emergency preparedness planning scenarios.

This subcommittee meets on an as needed basis; average meeting cycle is bi-monthly.

Planning Subcommittee

This subcommittee is responsible for emergency preparedness planning, including, but not limited to, shelter planning, evacuation planning & modeling, data assessments (including Regional Demographics, Critical Infrastructure, Hazardous Vulnerabilities, etc), regional response capabilities and identifying emergency preparedness needs of the region.

This subcommittee meets on an as needed basis; average meeting cycle is bi-monthly.

Public Awareness

This subcommittee is responsible for providing information to the general public and first responder disciplines on the activities of the Council, availability of funds, and availability of regional resources. The committee oversees the maintenance of the Council’s webpage and coordinates (with the Planning Committee) Public Outreach and Education.

This subcommittee meets on an as needed basis; average meeting cycle is bi-monthly.

CBRNE & Critical Infrastructure

The Council has also identified a need for a committee or committees to consider CBRNE and Critical Infrastructure.
